It's HOT

I haven't written in a few weeks and now I can look back and appreciate the accomplishments I've made. Since joining the Talbot County Masters team I practice once a week on Wednesday nights and hop in the pool one other time per week. I can't make the Sat AM practice and Sunday is mostly for resting. The swimming is great, I'm doing just enough to help build cardiovascular endurance but not doing too much to hurt my shoulders.

The pilates are great fun. I take that class twice a week and usually run a 40 minute maintenance run the other two days before resting on Friday for our Saturday run.

Four Saturdays ago we were timed for a three miler and put in pace groups. My group has 6 members and we enjoy our runs. The longest has be 6 miles and it was HOT. That slowed us down a bit. We will begin to start running at 6AM soon. That of course means I'll be up at 4:30 so that I can have some coffee, hydrate and get a good meal in.

I've come to realize how important water is to running. I usually have it with me at the gym but don't always intake while running; but then I'm only running about 3 miles in air conditioning. Now that we are breaking the hour threshold for our runs we'll be taking in fuel as well. I have to find some fuel that works for me so I have to pick up a few different types and see what I like and go from there.

I'm tired and I'm sure I'm not stretching enough after runs so I will be working on that!
